Our Story

If there is something you should know about us, we are a family fond of celebrations. Whether huge birthday parties to honor major life events or intimate excuses to spend quality time together, like casual movie night, trying a new recipe, or weekend dinners, we make the most of it and treasure it deeply.

At the height of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and social isolation, our family of four found ourselves continuously returning to what we call a “sanctuary.” Our old, tired shed stood in the middle of an acreage of land on the outskirts of the suburbs that my husband had acquired some years ago. It quickly became our favorite spot when in need of fresh air after monotonous and exhausting days at work or simply for a change of scenery. In that shed, on that raw land, facing the vast greenery of the countryside, we brought our picnic, our conversations, and our dreams for the future.

We first thought of building our retirement home on that piece of land, or maybe just a small covered cottage beside our beloved old shed to hang out on the weekends and possibly invite our friends for small gatherings, barbecue, smores, or even fireworks on the 4th of July!. With a little bit of creative thinking, we talked about so many potential options to explore.

I am a dedicated healthcare worker, and I have a full-time job as an RN at the hospital. My husband, Arthur, is an Engineer and a Businessman. Our two kids are both in college. My son goes to Texas Tech University, while my daughter goes to A&M. My husband however, had a different vision. He dreamed of more than what we were considering. Until one day, he came home and told me to “hang on and get ready for the ride of your life!” I was not ready for this kind of adventure though, but then, life is too short for “what ifs”. I fastened my seatbelt and soon after, ground breaking began.

I continued to work my shifts in the hospital while at the same time handling all the details necessary for this project. As for my husband, in doing this project, I have seen hard work, perseverance, self-sacrifice, dedication, determination, and most of all, great faith in God firsthand in him. No weekends, no holidays. No amount of Texas heat, snow, or ice bothered this man! And I’m so proud of my husband, Arthur.

With much faith and prayer, God has shown us that all things are possible with Him. He has led us to the right resources and the right people. It is such a blessing to have great family and friends around who poured out all the love and support we needed at that time. We are grateful for that.

The “ride of my life” continues, I know there will be more riveting thrills and excitement along the way. And whether it’s the speed, sharp turns, twists, ups, or downs, we are embracing them all.

After a very challenging 20 months into the completion of this project, we can finally say that our dream, The Acre at 920, now stands! We are so happy to share this beautiful venue with everyone. We look forward to meeting many new friends, helping individuals unfold their vision into reality, and creating memorable moments for years to come.
